Wonderful Weather for Candy Cay!!!!!

Candy Day is the premiere fundraiser for the services & programs provided to the hearing & visually impaired in Illinois. Through these donations our Elmhurst Lions Club & the Lions of Illinois Foundation able to serve in excess of 18,000 men, women, & children each year. These programs include local screening for adults and children, and Camp Lions, a summer residential camp, especially designed for children with sight and hearing loss.

The Elmhurst Lions Club would like to thank all those who have made contributions, as your support enables us to continue to take on the challenge presented to Lions by Helen Keller to be "Knights of the Blind in the Crusade Against Blindness".

After a hard day of pounding the pavement....it was time for a cold beverage and some great fun at Pints Pub in Elmhurst. It was a chance to share stories of the day and enjoy the company of fellow Lions and Family.

Memorial Day Parade
Image:

A great time was had by all at this years Memorial Day Parade. What an honor to be part of the parade in remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. We had several Lions, Leos, and family members that came out to help support our club. Many thanks to Scott Reynolds who provided a vehicle and wonderful seat for Lion Kristi, plus a great place to store the candy. Lion Dan Kordik also provided a great vehicle for the parade, it looked like he and Scott planned the car colors (yellow and Blue). We told Lion Dan he could never sell his car, it was too perfect for the parade. We all had a great time and handed out a ton of candy.

Lion Jim Hallberg Pub Sit
The Pub Sit was held on Friday February 16, at Seven Ten Lanes in downtown Elmhurst. As you can see, a good time was had by all. Thanks to Lion Jim and Also Lion Don for there generous donation (can buying a round be considered a donation?). We had some 1st timers their as well, Lion Jim's Granddaughter made her 1st Pub Sit, and boy did she have fun. And what is up with Brian Stolper, looks like he's up to no good.

Anyway, it was very good to see some many Lions out for the evening, and we are looking forward to our next gathering in March.
